**Speech Draft**
There are billions of dollars flowing into philanthropy every year. Billions in government funding. Billions from private foundations. Billions from corporate giving.
And where does this money go? It goes to initiatives that end violence. That protect the environment. That teach children to grow up healthy and kind. That secure our food system and strengthen public health. Billions of dollars.
This money is available. But… it is not always obvious how to connect _our_ work to it.
Let me read that list again, slowly.
This money is available for anti-violence work.
For nutrition.
For agricultural development.
For health.
For environmental protection.
Now, can you think of any work that does these things?
Because I can.
The work you are all engaged in, the work of ending factory farming, fits squarely within these funding priorities.
And yet… our movement has too often focused on just one pool of money: animal-focused philanthropy. And that pool, as you know, is painfully constrained. Significantly constrained.
This is the problem Potluck Philanthropy was born to solve.
We exist to bring new money into this movement. To connect pro plant based initiatives with the vast pools of funding that _already exist_. We do this by packaging initiatives in ways that resonate with funders outside our traditional circle...invluding those from government, environment, public health, the arts world, and corporate giving.
And it is working. We are seeing successes. More non animal grants are funding plant-based initiatives than ever before. More environmental funders are investing in food transition. Even arts foundations are stepping in to support projects.
So here is the question.
Does your initiative help children?
Does it help the environment?
Does it end violence?
Does it secure the food system?
Does it make communities happier and healthier?
If so, it belongs in these larger streams of funding. And that is what we at Potluck do. We help make that connection. We package pro animal work for funders who have a significant capacity to help speed the the transition to a world without suffering.

We are Potluck Philanthropy. We know everyone has something to bring. And you are certainly invited.
