## How I want to be reminded to make decisions See [[decision log]] - Think probabilistically.  - Do not spend energy deciding things that do not matter. - Act under the assumption that the problems we face are like wildfires. Planning is critical, but the forest continues to burn. Make sure the value of more planning outweighs the cost of delaying action. - Entertain self-doubt. Remember the long list of human cognitive biases and heuristics.  - Do whatever will have the greatest chance of reducing the greatest amount of suffering. - Consider the long-term effects. Remember the effects of compounding over time. - Let people who are better equipped to make a particular decision, make that decision.  - Remember that action leads to insight more often than insight leads to action. - Consider the decision from other perspectives. Do not passively accept initial framing. - Consider who else has dealt with a similar question and try to learn from their experience. - Put yourself in whatever mental state would be best suited to considering a particular question.
