# Tinnitus NOte the "can I hear my own voice test" doesnt make sense as your brain is great at filling in gaps of your own voice. it makes more sense to have other test or to use a decible meter Was researching Transcutaneous Auricular Vagus Nerve Stimulation (taVNS) for anxiety... Happened to come across a bit about its efficacy for tinnitus. [https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC11110564/](https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC11110564/) The TENS device + ear clips I use for anxiety is ~$40-60. I know it works for anxiety. Not positive re: tinnitus, the the research suggest it might. Wanted to share in case it was of interest. ## Log - 2025-03-22 - 13:45 - experienced it first few days - 2025-01-08 - I have started to hear a low town - Pre 2025 I definitely have it sporadically. Maybe a dozen times a year I may have it in the background all the time. Like a low humming noise. This seems to come from the pressure in my eardrums. I only ever notice it if there's no other sound I'm listening to. [[it is a matter of focus]] Okay it's not all the time. But it is some.of the time. I want to enjoy this sensation. [[Breathing]] seems to make a difference.
