# Ish Ish doesn't mean I'm not [[vegan]], [[sober]], and [[happy]]. Sobriety, veganism, and happiness are pursuits, not claimed states. Using the suffix -ish feels more truthful. Perfection is the sun. Perusing it is fruitful. Needing to reach it will burn you. ## So why ish? [[vegan-ish]] because our food system is broken. Because it is more effective to be accessible to people. Because if ignoring a bit of milk means I get to share a moment with a toddler, stranger, or grandmother, I'm going to ignore it. Then I'm going to use that energy to change the food system. [[happy-ish]] because being discontent with not being happy makes me unhappy. Because [[I want to feel it all]].
