## Prevention
Ejaculating more lowers risk of prostate cancer ([source](https://sci-hub.se/https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/abs/pii/S0302283816003778))
Aim for ~21/month.
### Questions
Any new medicine?
Apparently there are urine tests that can detect cancer cells after prostate massage ([source](https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.1111/iju.13734))
How do you know you have it?
PSA (Prostate specific antigen blood), DRE (direct rectal exam), MRI, and biopsy (only conclusive way)
#### survivability...
Very high (like 98% at 5 and 10 years)
#### Q1. Can biopsy spread cancer?
Apparently with biopsies there is a low (<1%) chance and when it happens it is called "needle track seeding".
https://bjui-journals.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/abs/10.1111/bju.12849
Based on the reviewed series the incidence of seeding appears to be <1%. The increase in the number of biopsies and cores taken at each biopsy over the years has not resulted in an increase in the reported cases of seeding. In conclusion, seeding along the needle track is a rare complication after prostate biopsy. Its actual incidence is presently difficult to quantify. It is reasonable to advise appropriate counselling and take measures to reduce this event where possible; however, we do not advocate avoidance of biopsies as the benefits of appropriate cancer diagnosis and management outweigh any potential risks from seeding.
