Being a lower weight has consistently been better for my health.
## The habit of weighing
I decided early 2023 that I do not want to weigh myself. I've thought that in the past but this time feels more firm.
## My goal is not lower weight
I want stronger [[bones]] and [[Muscles]] which means I could be healthier at a higher weight and I want to lower unhealthy deposits of [[belly fat]] around my abdomen which means I could be healthier at a lower weight.
## Weight is a very poor barometer
Knowing just the weight is regularly unhelpful. I can lower it by losing muscle, bone density, and hydration.
I have on many occasions seen that I'm a lower weight and then felt justified in eating unhealthy food. So the situation is that unhealthy habits can then lead to more unhealthy habits.
