Emotional Causes—Anxiety and depression can lead to yawning excessively. ## #Pasted Increased oxygen intake: Yawning helps to increase the oxygen levels in the bloodstream, leading to a refreshed and more alert feeling. Cooling of the brain: Yawning may help to regulate the temperature of the brain by cooling it down through the inhalation of cool air. Stimulation of the autonomic nervous system: Yawning may stimulate the autonomic nervous system, leading to increased alertness and a more awake feeling. Relieve stress: Yawning can help relieve stress by stretching the jaw and neck, releasing tension in these areas.
